About Us

Johanssons Pelargoner och Dans (Johansson’s Geraniums & Dance) is a dance collective and nonprofit organization that creates playful, norm-creative and challenging performance art pieces for children and young people. We work to make the performing arts more inclusive for everyone and to help ensure that all children and young people have a clear place in society and cultural life.

Johanssons Pelargoner och Dans was founded in 2009 by a group of students who were studying dance pedagogy at the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm. Over the years, the collective has evolved and developed to become a leading player within the fields of norm-critical performing arts and dance pedagogy for young people.

Pedagogical skills are at the core of our activities and they form a key part of our approach towards the children and young people and their thoughts on dance. By taking an explorative approach, we provide space and freedom for the children we meet to think freely and decide for themselves. Through this we hope to open up to new ideas and interpretations, and provide an opportunity to look beyond conventional perceptions of what dance is and should be.
